The president Putin is holding Б 10Х42 known as GLIANEZ...as it was said, the nickname comes from a larger quantity of special black paint which is used to cover the body surface. Actually, there is no clear evidence when it was adopted in service in the armed forces of Russian federation, but for sure it was later than its smaller brother Б 7Х30 SECUNDA. The set is used widely on polygons and observation points, it is heavy - 1,3 kg, and is not supposed to be carried for long. The image is clear, flat with a tint of yellow, which was the requirement of the Ministry of defense in their specifications for KOMZ - the plant where Б 10Х42 is made...as a matter of fact, it is made in a daughter plant of KOMZ, which was known as FOTON before, but now it is Shvabe - technological laboratory. This model has got a complex and expensive technology of production - it is made from magnesium alloy, the glass is BAK4, with multi-layer antireflexion covering. It has got sophisticated 6-lenses eyepieces with retractable eyeshades which enables observation in a gas mask or with protective goggles or just glasses. The Field Of View is equal to 5,5 degrees or 102 m at 1000 m distance. The exit pupil is 4,2 mm, and the distance between the pupil and the lense with an eyeshade in a highest position is 21,6 mm. It is a "must have"item in every serious collection. |
