I owned several CZJ binoculars in the 80's, including an 8x30 Deltrintem, 8x50 Nobilem Super and 8x50 Octarem. I still have the Octarem and wish I still owned the Nobilem. Those were made to a much higher standard than the other CZJ binoculars of the time and had more sophisticated optics, particularly the Nobilem which used a triplet objective. Although less sophisticated I think the Octarem (later confusingly renamed Nobilem) is actually a little better optically than the Nobilem Super, which is why I kept it. T3M multi-coating was not the best, so both have good, but not excellent light transmission (the Octarem was the brighter) and a slight green/yellow image tint. Both of these were much better optically than the Zeiss and Leitz non-phase corrected roof prism binoculars of the time. The only real optical competition was from other center focus porros of high quality, which were becoming rarer even then. There were no other 8x50 CF porros at the time.

I bought the Nobilem from the American importer for about $500. His prices were far too high, in part because there was a 40% US tariff on East German goods. The others I bought from Vic Odden's in London. I still have their 1987 price list. Prices are in British Pounds. If my notations on the page are accurate the Pound was equal to about $1.45US at the time.

8x30 Deltrintem- 49.95, Jenoptem- 39.95

7x50 Binoctem- 71.95, Jenoptem- 59.95

10x50 Dekarem- 76.95, Jenoptem- 63.95

8x50 Octarem- 159.95

12x50 Dodekarem- 199.95

8x32 Notarem- 103.95

10x40 Notarem- 149.95

补充一点:Deltrintem, Jenoptem是同一种产品,但是Deltrintem后出,渡膜有所改善,做工质量却下降,易碎。
