МОБ (1H25) - the latest of Russian army binoculars. It was designed and first produced in a small series in 2016. Actually, ZOMZ and KOMZ were competing to offer a portable binos for the RATNIK equipment, which had been almost completed by then. The specification by the Ministry of defense said that it must be compact "roof" device in configuration 8X20, shockproof, waterproof, with antilaser filters. ZOMZ proposal was a small classical "porro" БП8Х20, but it apparantly lost to KOMZ's offer - МОБ. In Russian language this abbreviation is decoded as "small optical binoculars" and in the middle of 2016 after passing all severe tests of the customer, it was adopted in service and its GRAU index is 1H25. In contrast with БП8Х20 МОБ is two-axis device, very compact and is covered fully with rubber, all black color. It has got independent focusing of the barrels and a diopter adjustment from - 5 to +5. The body is made from magnesium alloy, it has got blue antireflexive coating and a reticle in the right barrel. The bino can be also carried around the neck on a thin cord and has no case just like Б7Х30 and Б10Х42. It has got protective caps on both objectives and eyepieces - the latter are with built-in antilaser filters. Here are the specifications of the device: magnification - 8X, FOV - 7.10 degrees, exit pupil - 2,5mm, eye relief - 7mm, resolution - 9 minutes, size - 105X65X40mm. It can work from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius. The general mass of the device is 300g. It can have either only one reticle for measuring angles, or a combination of two - angles and meters to the object. The optics are bright and the image is sharp on nearly 65% of the field. The binoculars were initially produced in a small series for Rosgvardia - the troops of the Ministry of interior, similar to 中国 人民武装警察部队. Its production has ceased since the Special military operation in Ukraine commenced and therefore it is hard to find it on the market. Here are some photos of МОБ. |
